Food
Healthy eating is really important to me and cooking healthy, delicious meals is a real passion of mine. I believe that children should eat the same types of foods as adults and the menus I create reflect this. I strive to cook meals which are based on fresh, organic ingredients where possible, bread, pasta and rice are always wholegrain and water or organic milk are the only drinks on offer. I never force a child to eat something which they aren't comfortable with but try to take time to find out about their likes and dislikes and build around them, with gentle encouragement to try new things. Snacks are always fruit or vegetable based. I have a good understanding of special diets and am happy to discuss individual needs. I am happy to puree/ mash foods for babies. Menus are available to view on my secure website a week in advance. A typical weekly menu might look like this:
Monday
Snack- Banana and raisins
Lunch- Tuna pasta salad, homemade apple cake
Snack- Carrot sticks and hummus
Tea- Homemade vegetable pizza with a sweet potato and wholewheat base, fruit salad.
Tuesday
Snack- Apple and orange
Lunch- Mild vegetable and bean chilli with rice, Homemade sugar free fruit cake.
Snack- Ricecakes and grapes
Tea- Roast chicken with potatoes and vegetables, fruit
Wednesday
Snack- Dried apricots and dates
Lunch- Salmon and potato pie with vegetables, Greek yoghurt with honey and strawberries
Snack- Apple and banana
Tea- Spaghetti bolognese , fruit
Thursday
Snack- Homemade muesli slice
Lunch- Eggy pitta pockets with salad, homemade chocolate beetroot cake.
Snack- Grapes and apple
Tea- Jacket potato with a choice of fillings, salad, fruit
Monday
