EYFS
The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) provides a standardised framework or curriculum for everyone who works with children in the early years category (0-5 years). This ensures that all children are given the best possible start.
I work closely with the EYFS guidance which involves providing for and promoting children's learning in the three primary areas of learning:
and in the four secondary areas of learning :
Learning is child led and no child is forced to do an activity which they don't want to do, instead it is my job to observe what they do enjoy and build on this using constant reflective practice of my resources and activities. Children are very much involved in the process, we talk about what we'd like to do and then review afterwards whether we enjoyed it. I use children's own interests to engage them in learning, for example for a child who loves cars, we could build literary, mathematical and art activities around that interest.
